| PAUL ATCHINSON - Heritage Transport Artist - ABOUT ME |
Initially I painted a wide variety of subjects, but when I began painting full time in 1996 I decided to specialise in transport themes. I paint in a variety of media but mainly in, Chromacolor, acrylic and more recently alkyd. For a number of years I have been the artist-in-residence at the Crich Tramway Village. I have had paintings exhibited at the British Society of Painters at Ilkley, where I have been a prize winner twice; the Derby City open exhibition; the Patchings Award exhibition; the Pierrepont Gallery at Thoresby Park in north Nottinghamshire, and the Bexhill 100 Festival. Commissions include lorries, motor cycles, submarines and non transport subjects especially dog portraits. Previous clients include, Felix Bus Services; Potteries Motor Traction; Skills' Motor Coaches, Conwy Borough Council, East Lancashire Coachbuilders and several local coach and bus operators. Find out more about commissioning a painting and see examples of previous commissions I have undertaken. I publish many of my paintings as prints and some of my work has also been used on greetings cards, postcards and calendars. Limited edition prints are individually signed and numbered by me, and the number of copies is strictly limited. You can see the original paintings I have for sale, and my range of prints together with mugs and mousemats in the GALLERY & SHOP. |
